Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Ownership of the US multi-state and Canadian payroll tax compliance. Including employee, employer, voluntary disability, unemployment, hypothetical, local and any other applicable tax responsibilities. 

Ensures tax compliance and timely quarter end and year end tax filing working with ADP. Prepares periodic reports and remittances to Canadian workers comp agencies. Apply for tax ID’s and configure in SmartCompliance. Upload quarterly files in SmartCompliance, review and resolve out of balances and exceptions.  Upload tax due notices to SmartCompliance ensuring resolution. Submit Washington L&I quarterly reporting for multiple FEINs. Request signatures for POAs, forwarding to ADP or Employers Edge. Update new unemployment rates in SmartCompliance

Technical support of the US and CA payrolls

Create and monitor tickets for ADP GlobalView tax support Support for implementations and organizational changes such as acquisitions and restructuring

Complete Special Projects related to the US and CA payrolls, as needed by the Payroll Manager

Support payroll requests for auditors and third-party service providers.

Payroll support for third party service providers such as E&Y, Vialto, and Employers Edge.

Education & Experience

Education: 

Some secondary education required, bachelor's degree preferred. Prior ERISA training.

Experience: 

At least 8 years of Payroll Experience in a complex multi-state payroll environment ADP Tax service experience preferred. Prior experience of SAP payroll preferred. Knowledge of multi state taxation. Experience with International assignments.

Skills

Proficient in SAP Payroll Expert knowledge of US and Canadian Payroll Proficient with Excel and other common office software Excellent communication skills Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills. Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. 

Working Conditions

Works in a professional office or work from home environment.  Routinely uses computer and attends virtual meetings. Will have access to sensitive and confidential information and will exercise discretion when dealing with this type of data.   Will work with deadlines and multiple tasks simultaneously.  At times, will have a large volume of emails to review and respond to.  Works independently with general supervision. May go into the office on occasion.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for long periods of time Operate a computer and input data.  Use of standard office equipment Attend virtual meetings.

Safety Requirements
