Payroll Technology Analyst

HealthPartners is hiring a Payroll Technology Analyst. The Analyst plays a pivotal role in enhancing payroll operations through leveraging technology to streamline business processes, ensuring alignment with HealthPartners’ strategic goals and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for the strategic configuration, maintenance, and optimization of integrated payroll systems (including Oracle Cloud HCM, myTime (Time & Attendance/Staff Scheduling and ADP) and processes that support effective data management, reporting and administration. The Analyst provides support and direction for a product or specific module(s). 

Key responsibilities include system changes and enhancements, managing software releases and introducing new functionality, and supporting all aspects of the system(s) including extensions and fast formulas, integrations, and reporting as applicable. As part of an agile product team, this position is accountable for ensuring that the products meet the needs of Payroll, Leaders and employees and other stakeholders. This position partners closely with Human Resource teams, Payroll, IT, and Data Operations to maintain current system functionality, implement new functionality and ensure data integrity.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience with related software applications or 5 or more years of experience with related software applications in lieu of a degree Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.) and Payroll application support Knowledge of and experience with Payroll/Finance reporting

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Three years professional experience in Payroll or programming and systems analysis Experience with Oracle HCM Oracle reporting tool experience (i.e., OTBI, BIP, HCM Extracts, FDI) Reporting tool experience (Microsoft Visual Studio Report Designer, SQL Server Management Studio)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Oracle Certification  Certified Payroll designation (CPP) Knowledge of payroll processes  SQL knowledge

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

Participates on Sprint teams and performs tasks associated with the selected sprint back log with direct accountability for completion of tasks in the given time frame and with available resources. As part of each sprint, seeks to understand business and stakeholder requirements and implements the best technical solution. May bring together multiple users to identify and define system requirements. Helps ensure that all stakeholders’ needs are being met when practical. Responds to escalated Service Now tickets with reported issues, questions, and tasks. Research issues to determine root cause and solutions. Document responses and issue resolution.  Writes and runs standard and ad hoc data reports. Creates reports, conducts analysis/presentation of targeted data, which will facilitate analysis, interpretation and decision making relative to HR or Finance processes, products, and services. Assists in the design and creation of integrations of data to internal partners and external vendors. Monitors integrations to ensure they are working and troubleshoots errors or issues.  May develop and maintain process/system documentation, work standards, tip sheets, training, etc. related to HR/payroll systems and supported processes. May also support communication on system upgrades, downtime, and other changes to stakeholders, as necessary. Provides ongoing technical support and may provide training for users. Responsible for fostering strong partnerships with HR, Payroll, IT Enterprise Systems, ERP Operations and Data Operations Stays current on new product features/functionality to manage and support the ongoing and continually changing applications. Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes by leveraging the system(s). Follows data integrity and security standards to ensure confidentiality of private HR/payroll data. Appropriately communicates security issues and concerns and make recommendations to leadership.
