ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The PBX Operator provides assistance to all incoming and outgoing calls at PBX switchboard, directs all incoming calls to appropriate areas, monitors emergency alarms and provides assistance during code situations.

EDUCATION:
Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Post High School vocational/specialized training.
EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) months to (3) three years experience as a PBX Operator preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION: None
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Clear, concise speaking ability; able to handle stressful situations; knowledge of computer use.

Position Summary:
The PBX Operator is responsible for supporting the hospital by operating the PBX switchboard. PBX Operators efficiently answer, screen and transfer all incoming and outgoing calls to appropriate locations. Operators also monitor emergency alarms, provide assistance during code situations and activate the emergency notification system Everbridge when directed.
