Pcb Design Engineer
Job Title: PCB Design Engineer Responsibilities + Overall ownership and accountability of product definition for assigned projects from launch through production. + Create schematics and circuit board layouts for single-sided, double-sided, multilayer, flex, and rigid flex boards. + Generate and review parts for library use. + Create all associated drawings for the electrical portion of the design package and lead drawing reviews. + Ensure proper configuration management on documents. + Work within the guidelines of applicable policies, procedures, standards, and specifications. + Evaluate and influence new and revised engineering standards and product definition operating procedures. + Ensure all interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by component owners of mating/interfacing parts. + Concurrently manage multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality to ensure schedule requirements are met. + Perform tolerance stack-up analysis. + Have a thorough understanding of engineering drawing practices ASME Y14.100. + Interpret and clarify customer technical requirements. + Define and maintain technical compliance to customer requirements. + Develop design concepts for technical proposals. + Support legacy product improvements and manufacturing. + Conduct internal research and development. + Resolve field issues. Essential Skills + Proficient in the use of Xpedition. + Proficient in the use of PADS. + Familiar with DX Designer (NX or other MCAD Tools and PCB Design Tools). + Familiar with HyperLynx. + Working knowledge of IPC standards. + Experience with multi-layer PCB layouts. + Experience with surface mount digital board design. + Experience with high voltage, high current layouts. + Ability to manage electronic data files in a structured database environment. + Web-based knowledge, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet/presentation skills. + Ability to influence and work cross-functionally in a matrix organization. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (or High School Diploma/GED with at least 7 years of design experience). + Strong oral and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. + Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
