Duties:
•\tDesigning high speed PCB backplanes and other auxiliary PCBs to support the overall products and supported systems
•\tAnalyze data to determine feasibility of product proposal
•\tCreates and maintains engineering drawing packages to support new and existing PCB designs
•\tPrepares and maintains power and thermal budgets
•\tDesign cable harnesses to interconnect electronic components within the chassis
•\tPlans and develops experimental test programs directly related to the chassis prototype
•\tAnalyzes overall design criteria, drawings, and test results to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
•\tEvaluates and identifies elements of previous designs for reuse or improvements as applicable
•\tUses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to formulate and test electronic designs
•\tEffectively supports production and quality departments during first-time design builds
•\tParticipates in customer design reviews and supports weekly phone calls with the client during the developmental phase
Qualifications:
•\tBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
•\t5+ years PCB design experience (16-32 layers preferred); ‘cradle to grave’ (schematics through layout) preferred; experience with VPX architecture preferred
•\tDesign experience with Mentor Graphics Pads and/or Expedition Suite
•\tExperience designing PCBs for military applications; knowledge of MIL-STD 461 preferred
•\tAbility to mentor Jr. engineers and teaching advanced Electrical Engineering topics
•\tMastery with common bench test instruments such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, and function generator. Competence with a soldering iron is desirable to be able to fabricate simple test fixtures and experimental circuits.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $72.00
