About the team:

The team is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and in-line SMT X-ray inspection programs, ensuring alignment with production requirements and quality standards. They lead continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and provide training and support to production staff. Additionally, the team collaborates with cross-functional departments, conducts detailed process analysis, and supports new product launches while maintaining comprehensive documentation for AOI processes and equipment.

What you can look forward to as a Process Engineer: Develop, optimize, and maintain Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and in-line SMT Xray (BGA inspections) programs using relevant software.  Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in AOI and X-ray processes and equipment. ​​Create and maintain detailed documentation for AOI processes, programs, and equipment. Work closely with SMT process engineers, quality engineers, and production supervisors to ensure seamless integration of AOI processes within the production line. Troubleshoot and resolve AOI and Xray-related issues to minimize downtime. Perform root cause analysis, process capability studies, and implement process controls to ensure process performance requirements are met and sustained. Your profile as a Process Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 3+  years of experience in SMT AOI engineering, preferably in the automotive industry. Experience with AOI software such as Koh Young and Nordson Experience in developing and maintaining SMT X-ray inspection programs and proficiency in AOI and X-ray inspection technologies Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for SMT and AOI processes Experience in supporting designed experiments (DOE) and expertise in root cause analysis and corrective actions Ability to develop and implement quality control systems Familiarity with other inspection technologies such as X-ray and ICT Why you should choose ZF in Marshall, IL:

The expected base compensation for this role is $85,000.00  - $100,000.00 annually.  Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
