Shift: 3rd, 11pm – 7am (Sunday – Friday)
Job Summary and Mission:
Automatic and/or hand braze carbide tips through electrical induction.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Clean carbide bolster. Perform blasting and inspection of brazed tools. Apply flux to tips and place braze material on surface of joint. Set-up and operate PCD braze machine and assemble diamond tips to carbide bolster. Work with engineering or supervisor to help establish new braze processes. Support other production activities as needed. Scan correct production information. Train new operators when required. Operators are required to troubleshoot basic to moderate problems.
Key Accountabilities:
Commitment to working safely and understanding all safety procedures including performing pre-operation checks for both individual machines and work area. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment. The operator is responsible for inspecting parts to meet established ISO requirements, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and that the quantity and style are correct. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Responsible for management of WIP components (i.e., carbide, braze, flux and steel bodies). Perform cycle counts as specified. Accurately record required data (i.e., production, quality, etc.) Participate in Lean events. Perform daily required TPM on associated equipment. Perform daily required 5S activities for work area. Must be reliable and dependable. Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts.Education and experience:
High school diploma or general equivalent diploma. Basic math blueprint reading. Basic computer skills. Ability to read measuring devices (i.e., calipers, height gauges, etc.). Minium of six (6) months manufacturing braze experience. Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
Work Environment:
Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Steel-toe safety shoes are required. Gloves, cut resistance are required. Hearing protection is required.
Physical Demands:
Approximately eight hours standing with one scheduled break opportunity per eight hour work period. Intermittent walking, carrying/lifting, reaching, standing, sitting, and pushing/pulling. Lifting pieces weighing no more than thirty-three (33) pounds.Equal Opportunity Employer
