Under supervision of the Registered Nurse, the PCT is responsible for completing delegated tasks and specific duties to support patient care. PCT responsibilities include, but are not limited to, movement of patients throughout the department, completion of point of care testing (EKGs, fingersticks, pregnancy/urine tests), continuous observation of high risk patients, assisting patients with activities of daily living , performing CPR, proactive hourly rounding on all assigned patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting within the electronic medical record, and more. Our PCTs perform in a high acuity environment with multiple priorities. This entry level position performs in a high activity work environment with multiple priorities and necessitates flexibility in scheduling._*Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for Patient Care Techs based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held.*_ * No experience required, training provided on-site. * Successful completion of PCT specific Hartford Healthcare orientation. * Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire date. * Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers. * Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English. * Flexibility to respond to changes in work schedules as necessary or as requested. *Preferred:* * High school diploma or GED * Some relevant experience * Current certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) * Current CNA or EMT certification We take great care of careers.
