Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Patient Transport Department Manager, the Patient Escort safely transports patients throughout the hospital from admission to discharge.

Qualifications:

Required:

Must obtain BLS-CPR within the first three months of employment in this position and maintain itSuccessful completion of general and department specific orientationMust have excellent customer service skills

Preferred:

GED or High School DiplomaHospital patient transport experience

Scheduling Requirements

Per Diem (position minimum four shifts in a month, one weekend, and rotating holidays

Essential Functions:

As a Transporter, you are an integral part of the patient care teamThe Transporter position transports patients within the hospital network via stretcher or wheelchair, to and from patient care and treatment areas in a safe and efficient mannerTransporters will assist with patient's positioning and mobilityA transporter must be able to communicate well with the patient to assure a positive experienceThe transporter will perform all other duties as assigned running errands, linen exchange, and the cleaning of equipmentThe transporter plays a key role in patient care and patient safety:Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, medical errors, etc.,
