Job Overview:
The Registered Vascular Technologist performs vascular testing procedures under the supervision of the physician(s) and practice manager, and assists physician both inpatient, outpatient and intra-operatively during vascular procedures and non-invasive studies.
Performs the following functions, including, but not limited to:
Prepares patient for examination and treatment; takes brief patient history that includes chief complaint, vital signs, and weight. Competently performs vascular ultrasound diagnostic procedures of specified body areas by properly positioning patients; locating/scanning areas for interpretation as directed by the physicians. Recognition of and attainment of adequate standardized views, and identification of abnormal structures or findings.

High School Graduate or Equivalent Diploma from accredited Ultrasound or Vascular programRegistered Vascular TechnicianPreferred:
Completion of EKG Technician Certification Course/ProgramAt least 1 year of applicable work experienceCertifications and Licenses Required:

Shift working ranges from 7am-5pm weekdays and 7am-3pm on weekends and holidaysSome weekday, weekend and holiday coveragePer DiemEssential Functions:
Perform pulse volume recording as per policy and procedurePerform back-up floppy disk of patient data on a monthly basisPerform arterial, venous, and carotid studies as per policy and procedureIdentify anatomical structures which are normal or abnormalIdentify positive test results and initiate contact with the reading physician prior to discharging the patientArrange transportation for patient to and from labSort and consolidate reports, mail to ordering physician or deliver to patient charts, dailyMake copies of reports for patient departmental fileCompletes charges after performing procedureBenefits and Perks:
