We also take care of each other. Pediatric Elective Program (PEP) is an eight-week opportunity for nursing students to expand their roles in bedside care with highly skilled Children’s nurses as their guides. The PEP student has the same job scope and charting capabilities as that of an unlicensed PCT. Each PEP is paired 1:1 with a RN preceptor(s) for the 8 weeks and serves in the role of a PCT. The optimum experience would be for the PEP student to have consistent 1-2 RN preceptors throughout their experience.
