Provides general pediatric care to hospitalized pediatric patients and performs procedures in the inpatient setting. Serves as the patient's primary physician during patient hospitalization. Job Description:
Provides direct patient care for pediatric patients in a hospital setting.Provide coverage in the normal newborn nursery including circumcisions.Provide family centered care in a community hospital Review patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.Provide education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.Work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.Practice in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.Provide pediatric consultation for ED and surgical patients.Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.Actively participates in multidisciplinary approach to case management.May participate in on-call rotation.May perform procedures such as line placements, ventilator management and endotracheal intubation.EMR: Excellian (EPIC) is one of the most comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) systems in the nation.Job Requirements
MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required. Accredited Residency training program in Pediatrics required.BC/BE for Pediatrics (ABP)Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain) NRP and PALS certification requiredAbility to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI) Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privilegesCasual positionMercy Hospital is the premier hospital in the northern metropolitan communities of the Twin Cities.
