Pediatric Interventional Radiologist at CHOP – Clinician Educator – Senior Rank
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Clinical Pediatric Interventional Radiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The applicant will be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified with CAQ and completion of fellowship training in Interventional Radiology or completion of a residency in Interventional Radiology is required. Fellowship training in pediatric radiology or demonstration of equivalent experience is a plus. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision and teaching of residents and fellows during procedures and conferences and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical subspecialties. Teaching of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition, the candidate will prepare learning materials and lectures, teaching posters and presentations for national review. Clinical responsibilities may include performing minimally invasive image-guided interventional procedures as well as performing and/overseeing interventional studies and consultations with patients and referring physicians. The successful candidate will also participate in the Interventional Radiology off-hours on call program, including evening, night and weekend coverage. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading a focused body of research in a field within Interventional Radiology. The successful candidate will be a very accomplished researcher with demonstrated evidence of peer reviewed scholarship and is expected to secure grant funding. The candidate will also be expected to serve as a mentor to junior faculty, providing strong guidance and support in developing clinical or basic research careers. The ideal candidate will have a world-renowned reputation for innovative techniques and have impacts within the field of interventional radiology. The Department of Radiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia consists of over 500 dedicated medical staff specializing in pediatric radiology. Our team provides clinical services across various divisions, including Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, and Body Imaging (with subspecialties in areas like musculoskeletal imaging, emergency radiology, and oncologic imaging). Annually, our Diagnostic Radiology Department handles more than 250,000 cases. We actively engage in cutting-edge research using technologies such as Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS), 3T MR imaging, PET/CT, and Magnetoencephalography.
