Pediatrician
Ascend Autism
The Pediatrician will primarily focus on evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder using a variety of diagnostic tools and methodologies. This role is essential in delivering timely assessments and recommendations, supporting families through the diagnostic process, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder. Analyze and interpret data, and write evaluation reports
+ Utilize standardized diagnostic tools and assessment techniques to determine the presence of ASD.
+ Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educators to gather relevant developmental history and behavioral observations.
+ Provide clear and compassionate communication of evaluation results and recommendations to families.
+ Develop individualized care plans and coordinate referrals to appropriate services and therapies.
+ Stay current with the latest research and best practices in ASD diagnosis and treatment.
+ Educate families and the community about Autism Spectrum Disorder and available resources.
+ Follow all state and federal regulatory guidelines
+ Other duties as assigned
+ Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
+ Follow the policies and procedures of Ascend Autism Group
Qualifications:
+ Candidate may work as part-time or full time employee
+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
+ Board certification in Pediatrics
+ Licensed Medical Doctor
+ Proven experience in evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder
+ Experience (or willingness to receive training in order to) administering various standardized diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, CARS, Vineland)
+ Must hold applicable state licensure
+ Experience with Microsoft Office
+ Knowledge of DSM-5
+ Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in pediatric care and ASD
+ Excellent report writing skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Excellent administrative skills
Physical Requirements:
+ Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
+ Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time.
+ Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients
