Peer Engagement Assistant, Per-diem at 45th Street & Pike Place Clinics ** 4 Open Positions **

Purpose

The Peer Engagement Assistant will work with our Patient Navigator to co-facilitate patient council meetings, manage patient group activities and distribute food and supplies to patients during clinic times. A crucial part of the care team, the Peer Engagement Assistant will support patient awareness of and access to behavioral health care, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. The Peer Engagement Assistant will function within a small group of other PEA’s to bridge the gap between clinic staff and patients, ensuring that patient voice informs our practices.

This is a grant funded temporary position, which will work approximately 19 hours per week and is funded through 12/31/2024.

In this position you will:

Facilitates monthly Patient Council meetings, with support of Patient Navigator Attends quarterly Community-Driven Behavioral Health Collaborative meetings Gathers patient feedback from listening sessions and structured activities and enter into a feedback tracker monthly Navigates patient flow at the New Horizons clinic Manages and hand out supplies for patients during clinic Manages distribution of donated food to patients during clinic Assist Patient Navigator in facilitating patients activities, both in and outside of clinic Works both independently and as part of a team of peers, toward a common goal: improving patient access and experience at Youth Clinic sites Conducts community outreach with Patient Navigator Participates in monthly one-on-one meetings with Patient Navigator, and monthly Patient Intern team meetings Partners with other members of the clinic team to ensure patients are receiving the needed services, including participating in huddles and all-staff meetings Communicates effectively with clinic team members via email and in person. Performs day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, and data entry. Complies with the Neighborcare risk management, compliance, and information security program requirements, including accurate and timely reporting of all adverse incidents. Demonstrates professional demeanor in appearance/ behavior in all work-related interactions. Participates in and completes required organizational training programs, including annual Safety training and HIPAA and Compliance training.

Required for this job:

Ability to problem-solve and use conflict resolution skills when handling patient concerns and refer patients to appropriate designated personnel. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of varied racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Preferred for this job:

Basic PC skills in MS Windows environment, 10-key and typing. Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to develop successful interpersonal and professional relationships with diverse populations (leaders, clinical and non-clinical staff).

 Compensation

 The wage for this position is at a Maximum of $19.97/hour.

 Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
