Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) serves on the fully integrated, multidisciplinary care team, providing highly individualized, services and support to Program participants. The PWS partners directly with the Program Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to ensure success of the multidisciplinary group treatment, including maximizing attendance and ensuring all participants receive trauma-informed, strength-based, and patient-centered care. The PWS is the lead advocate for participants, representing the patient perspective at case conferences, huddles, team meetings, etc. The Peer Wellness Specialist models wellness and recovery while offering acceptance, hope, options, opportunities, problem solving, and non-directive and supportive peer services based on respect and mutuality through similar or shared lived experiences to individuals that are referred to them.

Required Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or GED Coursework/Training Completed coursework/trainings related to Peer Mentorship. Preferred coursework in Trauma Informed Care and Harm Reduction. Upon hire: Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) in compliance with MHACBO, or Peer Support Specialist (in adult addiction) in compliance with OHA. 1 year Experience as a Peer Wellness Specialist, Peer Support Specialist (in adult addiction) or Certified Recovery Mentor.
