POSITION PURPOSE:

To provide non-clinical support to individuals in the community. A member of the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment Team that provides community-based services to adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Will provide non-clinical support to individuals in the community. As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), you are first and foremost a peer – meaning that you have lived experience with mental illness and/or addition – and can serve as a role model for recovery values and principles, providing hopeful information about recovery and wellness.Will provide stage wise treatment interventions based on the consumer’s stage of change. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness, who is currently or formerly was a recipient of mental health services, is in the process of his/her/their recovery and has successfully completed training in illness management recovery interventions.High School Diploma or GEDCurrent certification as a CPS (or will obtain within twelve months of hire).Must have lived experience in drug and/or alcohol recovery. Valid driver licenseAbility to drive an organization vehicleAct 33/34/73 Clearances (Criminal/Child/FBI Department of Human Services)Pre-Employment Drug ScreenChild Protective Services Law training (CPSL)

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS/BENEFITS:

WORK SCHEDULE:  This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position.  Primarily Monday through Friday daylight – hours may vary according to program need.  Will provide on call services on a rotating basis
