POSITION SUMMARY:

With assistance from professional project staff the Peer Support Specialists will provide needed family and peer support to consumers, supervision of the residential facility, and transportation services. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ensure the security of the facility through the continuous monitoring of the grounds and facility. General client supervision in daily living activities and general program operation. Assist clients with overall therapeutic issues. Assist the counselor facilitating groups and meetings. Make copies of necessary program paperwork. Place documentation in client files. Ensure all scheduled activities occur at the specified time. Prepare client activity reports and other reports as requested. Search incoming property and shopping bags. Ensure assignments given to residents are completed. Ensure that residents comply with program rules. Monitor trip logs and conduct visual contact searches to ensure residents returning to the facility are not under the influence of any substance. Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. Provide support and encouragement to family members. Assist in escorting consumers to the MLK facility. Assist in escorting consumers to treatment facilities during business hours. Attend regularly scheduled meetings and maintain communication with the Program Supervisor, Linkage Specialist, and other staff members. Assist the Linkage Specialists when needed. Maintain log for vehicle service. Maintenance daily of vehicles used for client transportation. Maintain log sheet for client appointments made. Transport clients to daily appointments.
