Peer Support SpecialistSalary Rate: $24.00/hr. Location: Houston, TX (Downtown Houston) Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.Employment Type: Temporary The Harris County Public Health Department and Team1Medical are teaming up to seek a Peer Support Specialist to join the team! In this role, the Peer Support Specialist is a crucial team member who will ensure participants receive tailored services to meet their unique needs. This role will service provisions to focus on working with clients to enhance their recovery. What you will be doing:Provide ongoing case management services for applicable participants; monitor the case through approved closing and maintain client records and all other required documentation with discretion.Manage crises by assessing, deciding, and acting following standards and laws in emergencies involving the health and safety of clients being compromised, support participants in daily decision-making, and resolution of minor problems. What is Required:High School Diploma/GED RequiredOne (1) year of advocacy, mentoring, education, counseling, substance use service, or case management experience is required.Lived experience with mental illness, addiction or poverty. Current valid certification issued and recognized by the Texas Certification Board as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Peer Recovery Specialist, Internationally Certified Peer Recovery, Re-Entry Peer Specialist, Mental Health Peer Specialist, or Recovery Support Peer Specialist is required. Benefits and Perks:Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no weekends to offer a good work/life balance.During your employment with Team1Medical Staffing, you can enroll in our benefits program, including medical (3 plans to choose from), dental, disability, critical illness, life, vision, accident, and behavioral health insurance.
