PEGA Software Engineer

**Description**
SAIC is looking for an experienced Pega software engineer to work remotely joining an Agile Scrum team working on strategic projects supporting the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources and Conservation Division. This software engineer will participate in the analysis, documentation, development, development testing and implementation of software system requirements that support the business/mission systems needed by the project’s customers. The successful candidate will work within a SAFe Agile team interacting regularly with teammates, internal project leadership, members of other teams, and product owners/customers to determine needs and requirements, then work both as a team member and individual to translate these needs into custom software solutions that are peer reviewed, tested, verified, and integrated.
**Primary duties include: **
+ Design, develop and test high-reliability applications.
+ Provide end user support for several applications.
+ Interact with other developers to build software solutions fitting scoped requirements.
+ Manage software application code using version control and problem tracking software.
+ Work effectively in an Agile software development environment.
+ Interact closely with federal customers.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or relevant discipline; 4+ years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
+ 2+ years Pega development experience is required; 5+ years of experience is highly preferred.
+ Pega Certified System Architect.
+ Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance based on USDA regulations.
+ Must have resided in the United States for the last 3 years consecutively.
**Required Skills:**
+ Design and Development experience using Pega PRPC (Pega Rules Process Commander) platform.
+ Working knowledge of Pega Class Hierarchy and Business Process Modeling.
+ Experience with code libraries.
+ Working knowledge of building unit tests within code base.
+ Experience working with and understanding JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
+ Working knowledge of relational databases; creating and updating SQL statements.
+ Knowledge of OWASP or other secure coding practices.
+ Familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; focus on team collaboration.
**Desired Skills:**
+ Experience working with Atlassian Tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
+ Experience in Bitbucket and/or Git.
+ Experience with delivery of software solutions that execute in cloud environments.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
