Pennwood Cyber Charter School is seeking a dedicated and student-focused individual to join our team as an Engagement Specialist. The Engagement Specialist will be working from both their home office and the York office to complete administrative tasks as needed. This position involves collaborating with all school stakeholders to foster active engagement in the educational process. Engagement Specialists will work closely with parents, students, teachers, and staff to ensure academic progress and course engagement, while also nurturing a strong sense of community at Pennwood. Through effective relationship-building, consistent communication, and fostering accountability, the Engagement team plays a crucial role in supporting student success. This position reports directly to the Manager of Engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, teachers, and staff to support academic achievement and skill development. Academic Monitoring: Monitor student progress to ensure students remain on track academically. Provide support strategies to address academic challenges. Community Contribution: Facilitate initiatives that contribute to a positive school community, including organizing events, attending field trips, and planning activities that promote engagement and involvement. New Family Onboarding: Assist in welcoming and onboarding new families into the school community. Provide information, resources, and support to help new families integrate smoothly into the educational environment. Barrier Identification: Identify barriers to learning and engagement and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop solutions that support student success. Daily Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze data related to student engagement and performance on a daily basis. Use insights to inform decision-making and intervention strategies. Communication and Outreach: Regularly communicate with parents, students, and teachers to provide updates on student progress, share resources, and address concerns proactively. Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in engagement, education, and student support. Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge. Additional Duties: Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
