Pension System Account Manager

Description

The MARC Pension System Account Manager is responsible for the implementation and support of the MARC pension administration system. MARC is a defined benefit pension calculation and administration system. The Account Manager assists with new client implementations and provides support for existing client systems. The Account Manager may be expected to pursue continuing education by taking and passing professional examinations. In this role, both technical and project management skills are utilized. This is a client-facing role. Some travel may occasionally be required.

MARC is a pension administration system that is customized and used directly by our clients to administer their defined benefit plan(s). The MARC team is tasked with implementing and supporting the MARC websites for these clients and their participants. Implementation and support of the MARC system includes ensuring that the participant data is accurately loaded into the system, documenting and setting up benefit calculations, creating/modifying existing MARC forms and reports, and testing the websites for functionality and accuracy. The Account Manager is responsible for managing their MARC clients and assigning tasks to other team members.

What You Will Do

Have direct, daily client interactions Provide assistance for new MARC Defined Benefit system implementations Assist in the development and review of plan specifications, system setup and process coordination for new implementations based on existing plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and sample calculations Support existing MARC clients by researching issues and working with other MARC Team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues Provide training for new clients online or in person Compile user guides and other training materials for client use Initiate and participate in Practice quality improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement, lead key initiatives for the team, and document procedures. Ensure all work product is reviewed according to Milliman’s peer review guidelines Be proficient with respect to all computer systems used in the performance of daily tasks

Who We Are Looking For

Required Experience and Skills

1+ years of Defined Benefit plan experience Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Business Administration) Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to effectively manage and track numerous tasks, issues, and projects at one time. Must possess the ability to effectively manage project scope and client expectations while providing a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Windows Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with programming and/or working with SQL Server databases and/or working with Crystal Reports Professional exams or designation in area of expertise (e.g., Actuarial or ASPPA) and/or knowledge of basic facets of defined benefit plan administration such as vesting, benefit formulas, normal and early retirement, death benefits, annuities and lump sums, required notices, and benefits limits Ability to comprehend, summarize, and validate benefit provisions found in legal plan documents, summary plan documents, and plan practice as described by clients Experience with websites and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) Experience working in a professional services environment

Personal Qualifications

Works well within a team environment and takes ownership of personal work product. Proficiency in the use of computers and other general office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Able to productively respond to change. Excellent organization and time management skills.

Location

Candidates hired into this role may be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Milwaukee, WI on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered. If not located near the Milwaukee, WI area, remote applicants will be considered.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $46,000 to $87,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
