BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest. 

The Greenhouse Human Resource Generalist plays a crucial role in providing administrative support, maintaining efficient operations within the greenhouse facility, and assisting with various HR functions. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Specifically, you will:   

Become a trusted advisor to the greenhouse management teams on all people and culture mattersAct as the liaison between greenhouses and corporate officeServes as a contact for employees in multiple business segmentsAnswers questions regarding policies and procedures and assists in resolving Employee Relations issuesDevelop and maintain effective relationships with all levels of personnel; act as a partner to hiring managers, provide coaching on interview best practices, and providing guidance through the hiring processAssist in the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communication. Set up background and reference checks, prepare offer lettersSupport the onboarding process for new hires, set up new hires and walk candidates through the steps to complete the New Hire process including ADP, E-Verify, Alchemy (LMS), and completing paperworkMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, benefits documentation, and attendance records, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable lawsUpdate and maintain employee data in the HRIS (ADP) and other relevant systemsAssist with employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and inquiriesSupport HR-related communications and announcements, both internally and externallyAssist with the preparation and distribution of HR-related reports, such as headcount, turnover, and training recordsProcesses changes in the system and in writing in compliance with our Policies and proceduresHelps with employee communications and engagementFiles workers compensation reports and follows up as necessaryAdministers separation support: prepare letters and packetsAssist in the coordination of special events, workshops, or tours held at the greenhouse facilityPerforms other related duties as assigned 

The ideal candidate:   

Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compliance with federal and state employment lawsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policiesAbility to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factorsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 

Preferred Qualifications 

Education: BA/BS degreeBilingual Spanish/English  Experience: 2 -5 of HR experience in a coordinator or generalist role or office Manager Role

Working conditions/Environment

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
