The People & Culture (HR) Payroll and Benefits Specialist will support all functions within the People & Culture (Human Resources) team and be responsible for leading systemic process improvements with a mindset of automation and AI enabled processes, to create alignment of regional systems and procedures, with global and HQ, and analytics to support data driven decisions.
As our People & Culture (HR) Payroll and Benefits Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Independently ensure timely payroll processes across the US on a weekly basis. Competently optimize processes and use IT systems and employee self-help tools to reduce own transactional work. Collaboratively support Canada payroll and benefits optimization. Knowledgeably provide data summaries, reporting, and analysis, for the finance and People & Culture teams, allowing company leaders and stakeholders to strategically plan and make data-driven, informed, business and people decisions. Professionally partner with local and global HR professionals and ensure local Payroll and Benefits implementation of new global HRIT system, Oracle. Proactively communicate and educate team members and relevant colleagues on improvement activities that drive self-serviced and IT systems driven automated processes. Optimize employee benefit programs including HRIS setup and administration, open enrollment process, employee liaison, invoice processing, etc. Use data analytics and automation to integrate P&C/HR systems with Finance and other areas’ systems. HRIS super-user in Payroll and Benefits. Conduct training of users in both corporate and retail units, ensuring timely time and attendance approvals. Develop proficiency in reporting tools to maintain data integrity. Collaborate with external partners, vendors and experts to develop new ways of working for leaders. Effectively automate processes such as submission of weekly employee payroll and benefit changes. Proactively ensure ongoing development/updating of policies and procedures, following implemented optimization changes. Assist in annual personnel and capacity cost budgets and year end processes. Drive various process improvement and efficiency initiatives, with an emphasis on automation wherever possible. Ensure own professional growth by cross-training in various other HR function tasks/activities to provide back-up support as needed. Support of HR department initiatives and programs as needed. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

If you have…
Bachelor’s degree in relevant area for example IT, project management, Business Administration etc. 4+ years of experience in process payroll. Experience in managing company benefits such as employee insurances, fringe benefits etc. Tech savvy and curious about new technology’s ability to automate manual processes. Proven ability to take initiative and drive execution of deliverables. Attention to detail and focus on accuracy of payroll. Experience in Human Resources Operations is an advantage but not a requirement. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally (both verbally and written) to engage teams and leaders to work smarter and with new tools and systems. Ability to prioritize work and adjust priorities as needed, with strong organization and follow-up skills. Display a growth mindset being unafraid to ask for help and understand that errors and failures helps personal learning and growth. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Tech savvy and comfortable with exploring new systems and tools. Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level. Ability to travel up to 5%, both domestic and international. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to waist-height on an occasional basis.
