The People & Culture (Human Resources) Senior Business Partner is a key contributor to ECCO America’s success, providing expert support and guidance across business units to drive overall business performance. Focused on the entire value chain of business leadership, this role helps create and sustain a winning, equitable, and high-performing workplace. The position oversees important P&C functions such as compensation, benefits, compliance, and workplace policies, while continuously seeking opportunities for growth and improvement. With an emphasis on using systems and AI to automate transactional processes, this role ensures the organization is future-ready and scalable.

 

As we are going through substantial change, innovation and building our winning culture, this role is an in-office position with at least 4 days/week in the office.

 

As our People & Culture Senior Business Partner, your responsibilities will include:

Support ECCO leadership in communicating, coaching, and developing their teams, while building a healthy, engaged, and sustainable business environment. Lead and drive annual People & Culture processes, such as performance appraisals, engagement surveys, and compensation reviews. Collaborate with global headquarters in Denmark on key P&C processes, contributing to the ongoing development of ECCO’s P&C community. Take ownership of and contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C functions, programs, and processes, working closely with the P&C team(s). Serve as a trusted and knowledgeable People & Culture advisor to employees at all levels, consistently providing guidance, managing fairly with integrity, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. Uphold company policies and foster a respectful, equitable workplace culture. Champion the company’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, ensuring organizational focus and progress, and supporting related activities and events. Play a key role in developing and managing personnel and capacity cost budgets, including the YEP cycles. Manage external vendors related to your areas of expertise and interest. Develop, implement, and maintain workplace and culture programs that enhance company values and ensure a positive, inclusive work environment. Fairly and objectively manage employee relations, including performance/behavior issues, investigations, and corrective actions, in alignment with company values and legal guidelines. Drive change management and implementation for the upcoming global HRIS Oracle System in partnership with the P&C team. Collaborate with the regional P&C Director on talent management, succession planning, and data-driven decision-making programs. Contribute to the management and decision-making processes for employee benefit programs, including negotiations, implementation, and vendor management. Identify and address areas for improvement within and beyond P&C to strengthen the organization. Ensure timely and accurate completion of various company filings and reports, both internal and external. Represent the company in unemployment hearings and legal matters as needed. Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruitment efforts for the US HQ and remote sales teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s focus on quality and service. Develop strong partnerships with global HR colleagues to share best practices, develop regional HR programs, and create efficiencies. Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.

If you have… 

Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field. 8+ years of experience in Human Resources with at least 3 years in business partner role. Professional credentials (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP). Membership in a recognized HR organization preferred. Certifications in one or more Human Resources areas of expertise preferred (Talent development, Compensation, Learning, D&I etc.). Master’s degree or other supplementary education preferred. Strong logical thinking and curiosity for ongoing development of self and others. Has a comprehensive, firsthand experience across human resources disciplines. As a Talent Authority, can understand backgrounds, strengths, weaknesses and development needs of Top Talents Can build and consistently execute a talent production process. Solid knowledge of federal and state employment legislation. Exhibits a service-mindset in all interactions with internal and external contacts. Strong sense of emotional intelligence and integrity. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally (verbal and written) and with all levels of the organization. Ability to prioritize work and adjust priorities as needed. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Comfortable with making decisions, independently and with the team. Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and internationally. Computer savvy and used to M365 suite of tools Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level. Up to 10% travel, domestic and international. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
