An internship with PFS offers a unique opportunity to expand your horizons in an exciting industry, gain hands-on experience, and build a solid foundation to support your long-term career goals. During your internship, you can expect to gain a holistic understanding of the Mortgage Lending and Title (Financial Services) industries. We also will invest in you and your continued development through centralized training and development opportunities throughout the summer. Then, in your daily work, you’ll work with our experienced professionals in your designated function and contribute to meaningful projects. Lastly, you’ll showcase your experience and ideas by closing your internship with a capstone presentation with your local leadership team.

People & Culture (HR) (PFS): Work cross-functionally and have exposure to multiple areas within the People and Culture function such as: Talent Acquisition, HR Administration, Benefits/FMLA, Payroll, Project Management, Compensation, Employee relations and more. This HR internship is the foundation you need to jump start your career.
Overview of responsibilities:Through your internship, you will have the opportunity to apply your education to meaningful projects while developing practical HR skills, business acumen, problem solving, execution skills, and a growth mindset. You will be immersed in exciting opportunities that will empower you to make decisions and develop your skills as a Human Resources professional.
Talent Acquisition SupportPartner with the recruitment team on activities such as posting job openings across job boards and social media, sourcing diverse candidates, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews within the HR system.Guide new hires through the background check and onboarding steps, enhancing their experience and ensuring smooth transitions.
HR Generalist SupportSupport employee engagement initiatives by assisting with event planning, gathering feedback, and helping implement programs that enhance workplace culture.Help create and distribute HR communications, including newsletters, updates, and announcements, to keep employees informed on relevant HR programs and initiatives.Learn and support various payroll processes, including tracking and processing personnel changes and assisting with responding to payroll and benefits inquiries.Contribute to data analysis efforts and assist in preparing reports for HR and management use.Gain exposure to employee relations through reviewing case studies and learning about employment laws, compliance, and regulations.
HR Projects:Participate in HR projects and initiatives across multiple functions.Conducting research on HR related topics.Contribute to HR analytics initiatives.

Required Education/Experience High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required. Must be at least 18-years of age. Must have authorization to work in the United States. Our various PFS Internships are ideal for candidates pursuing a number of degrees including Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Communication, Human Resources, Pre-law, or similar degree. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship. Minimum of junior status preferred. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skillsets Curious and coachable, personable, patient, action-oriented, and accountable.Motivated and enthusiastic about delivering great work and achieving goals.Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all levels.Strong tech-savvy competency; experience with Excel and Microsoft Teams specifically. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for accuracy in both project work and daily tasks.Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.Adaptable and self-motivated, demonstrating agility to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.Bias for action, with a proactive approach and a desire to make a meaningful impact alongside teammates.Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field.Added plus are students who are involved in extracurricular activities outside of their curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc.).
2025 Summer Internship Blueprint: In your 2025 internship role you will work alongside our experienced professionals and mirror that team’s schedule and flexibility models. Please read each role’s description and discuss with your hiring team to best understand the team’s expectations. Application Dates: November 1st, 2024 – March 14th, 2025 Internship Dates: May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025 (12 weeks) *Schedule may be adjusted based on individual student need. 40 hours per week; schedule depends on the internship position and its requirements. Compensation: Pay $20/hour (Pay varies on position and location.) Benefits: Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Plan. Format: Exact schedule will vary based on intern position and team; interns will mirror the schedule/format of their designated team. Each intern will have the opportunity to shadow various functions that go into the homebuilding and lending processes. Internships may include a capstone presentation or final project.
