Job Summary
The People & Engagement Specialist will report directly to the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement. This role is responsible for implementing, promoting, and driving participation in programs that enhance Team Member engagement, foster an inclusive workplace, and promote the company's values and Team Member Value Proposition to drive retention and a strong workplace culture.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee internal engagement platform to ensure maximum reach to Team Members with timely and relevant employment information, facilitate connection and participation in culture and employment initiatives, and drive greater retention and engagement across the business. (25%)Create and manage programs that foster a positive workplace culture, improve employee engagement, and align with organizational values and the Team Member Value Proposition, such as Team Appreciation Day, Shack Gives Back volunteer activities, Support Center Shacktivities, and new hire onboarding. (25%)Develop and implement recognition programs to foster a strong culture of appreciation, including service anniversary programs and rewards for Team Members who embody Shake Shack’s values. (20%)Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by advising on strategies and business plans, assisting with event planning that promotes cultural awareness or employee engagement, and tracking contributions and impact on inclusion, engagement, and workplace culture. (20%)Administer and analyze engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and feedback tools. Support Shack and Support Center leaders with survey results and partner to identify creative solutions for a more engaged and inclusive workplace. (10%)Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceWork Experience: 2-4 years of related experienceSupervisory Experience: Not ApplicableSkills & Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsCreativity in ideating and managing engagement initiativesStrong organizational and project management skillsAbility to work with and influence a wide variety of stakeholder groupsAnalytical skills to interpret employee data and provide actionable recommendationsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Preferred Qualifications
