The People Services Generalist provides support in the following areas:
Provide recommendations for policy development and improvement; Collaboration with St. Peter’s Health leadership in the job Creation and career ladders process; Maintenance of St. Peter’s Health Job architecture and employee placement; Assist with our onboarding team with New Employee Orientation Dashboards and HR metrics, and human resources measurement and monitoring. Be an active member in various St. Peter’s Health committees. In addition, this position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations including DNV accreditation. The People Services Generalist II may be asked to provide back-up support to the People Services Generalist I as needed. The People Services Generalist II may be asked to provide back-up support to the People Department Generalist III as needed.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years experience in a human resources related position required; Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred. Working knowledge of the following Human Resources systems/laws in a healthcare setting required including policy development and implementation, compliance monitoring, human resource measurement, monitoring and benchmarking. Working knowledge of Title VII and other applicable federal and state employment laws; and employee communications/relations.
EDUCATION: Four year degree in Business related field or equivalent experience required OR Education and/or experience can be replaced by certifications listed below.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM CP preferred.
Aptitudes: Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet program (Excel preferred) to analyze data and prepare accurate and easily interpreted reports. Demonstrated strong proficiency in office software required (Microsoft preferred). Demonstrated ability to develop clear and understandable human resource policies. Demonstrated ability to research best practices and incorporate into current systems. Demonstrated ability to use feedback from diverse individuals or groups and implement an effective solution, including ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Demonstrated ability to implement decisions using effective interpersonal skills and without sacrificing relationships. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and manage a project with limited supervision. Demonstrated ability to effectively chair a committee of diverse individuals; success measured by accomplishment of established goals and compliance with governing/accrediting agencies. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities effectively and to easily adapt to change. Demonstrated customer-centered philosophy, high ethical standards and the ability to deal with confidential information are required.
