Job DescriptionIn this role, you will ensure exceptional associate / future associate experience at Fortune Brands Innovations. You will be a key member of the People Services team ensuring associates have information they need and that HR operational tasks run smoothly – all while growing your own skills to further your HR career. As a People Services Specialist, you will have core responsibilities in a variety of the areas listed below as well as the opportunity to contribute through special projects and assignments as we grow our team’s scope of services. You’ll also have the ability to specialize in certain responsibilities that meet your unique skills & career desires.
Position location – This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule. You can expect to work 3 days a week onsite in our Deerfield, IL company headquarters location, and the remainder of the week remote.
This role prepares you for further growth in your HR career. The foundational skills you’ll learn in this role will prepare you for a future role in multiple areas of HR – such as Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Technology, Employee Relations, HR Operations, Business Partner, and more. You’ll be exposed to multiple areas of HR through day-to-day responsibilities and special projects related to multiple areas of our business.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:

Serve as the first point of contact for associates, providing exceptional customer service in addressing day-to-day questions and concerns in person, over the phone, and onlineSupport managers & associates to effectively use our direct access tools like Front Door & WorkdaySupport associates & managers with their questions and provide tracking and/or reminders during key HR processes – such as benefits enrollment, performance management, engagement surveys, and moreSupport HR team with special projects across any HR specialtyAdminister the onboarding & orientation experience – including post-offer background check & drug screen, online onboarding module in HRIS, accurate completion of Form I9, and first week experienceComplete timely & accurate HRIS data entry for position requisitions, job postings, hires, job changes, and terminationsConduct data integrity audits to ensure our HRIS has accurate and complete informationMaintain compliant physical and/or electronic personnel filesAdminister the offboarding process – including completing the termination checklistMonitor implementation of HR policies, including sign-offsAdminister various HR programs such as tuition reimbursement, relocation, referrals and moreQualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1-3 years of experience in HR, HR Operations, HR Technology, Recruiting or Shared Services – including internshipsExceptional customer service skills, both verbal and written, for all internal & external customersHighly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & cloud-based filesharing platforms – Box and MS TeamsAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretionAbility to meet deadlines and service level expectations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree or higher in HR or related fieldExperience with our HR Technology platforms – Workday, SmartRecruiters, Kronos DimensionsAdditional InformationFortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $40,000 USD - $60,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
