Development and engineering support for  PeopleSoft (PS) Financials 9.0 and above,  and PeopleSoft EPM 9.1 Planning and Budgeting applications.

 

Complete Description:

Describe the primary functions to be performed by this resource: 

1.            Provide applications development and engineering support for VITA’s PeopleSoft (PS) Financials 9.0 and above and PeopleSoft EPM 9.1 Planning and Budgeting applications. This includes the following modules: Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Procurement, and Asset Management of PS Financials and Planning and Budgeting of PS EPM.

2.            Work on a technical team supporting enhancements to PS modules and interfaces, developing new interfaces and reports, testing upgrades to new PS releases, implementation of new modules and application of PS updates and fixes, development of new features within the PS application, performing extensive system and functional testing, and assisting with system troubleshooting and maintenance.

3.            Responsible for all stages of the design, programming, debugging, and modifications to the PeopleSoft Financials and EPM modules. Responsibilities will include: developing and modifying interfaces, modifications and reports for the PeopleSoft Financials and EPM Planning and Budgeting module using Application Designer, SQR, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, Integration Broker/Application Messaging, PS Query, SQL, Data Mover, and other tools.

4.            Work with end users to develop technical specifications and test plans based on functional requirements, assist business analysts in creating functional plans, make recommendations for the most efficient design for application changes, develop estimates for programming assignments, document all specifications, plans, objects, etc., provide consultation to users and other technical staff, migrate objects between development and test instances, analyze and research PS application problems, and work with users to create and test solutions.

5.            Work with the Budget staff to configure and stage the budget model in EPM, assist with troubleshooting issues during the budget development process

6.            Maintain, develop and execute ETL jobs to interface and integrate PeopleSoft EPM Planning and Budgeting with PeopleSoft Financials system.

7.            Will comply with all VITA standards, guidelines, policies and procedures related to IT and physical security, performance, etc.

 

What knowledge, skills, abilities, experiences, certifications are needed for this position? 

1.            Must have a minimum of 7 years of PeopleSoft application development and testing experience using PeopleTools 8.5x and 8.4x Application Engine, PeopleCode, Tree Manager, Data Mover, SQR, PS Query, Integration broker, Component Interface, File Layout, nVision, and Crystal Reports.

2.            Must have a minimum of 7 years experience with PT8.5x and PT8.4x toolset including Portal Security, Process Scheduler, Tuxdeo and PIA.

3.            Must have a minimum of 7 years experience with, and be able to demonstrate a robust technical and functional knowledge of, PeopleSoft Financials 8.4x and/or 9.x (GL, AP, AR, Asset Management, Procurement) with a minimum of 2 years experience in Financials 9.0.

4.            Must have a minimum of 7 years experience with, and be able to demonstrate a robust technical and functional knowledge of, PeopleSoft EPM 9.1 Planning and Budgeting.

5.            Must have experience with the budget development process and troubleshooting model staging in EPM

6.            Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining, enhancing, testing and operating IBM InfoSphere/Ascential DataStage ETLs, both Oracle-delivered and custom ETLs.

7.            Must have technical knowledge of the EPM Data Warehouse including a demonstrated understanding of EPM data warehousing concepts and data structures.

8.            Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in PeopleSoft system customizations, Oracle RDBMS concepts and design (11i and 10g), structured analysis and design, and use of systems development life cycle methodologies.

9.            Must demonstrate a robust knowledge of SQL.

10.          Must have a demonstrated knowledge of Windows server operating systems and administration, network communications, including SQL*Net and TCP/IP.

11.          Experience with system maintenance such as retrofitting maintenance packs, bundles, patches and fixes, including reading compare reports is preferred. 

12.          Ability to tune application servers, proxy servers, middleware and web servers for PeopleSoft environments, and configure Integration broker and Component interface is preferred.

13.          Experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) and User Productivity Kit (UPK) is preferred.

14.          Must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and have the ability to develop solutions and recommendations for appropriate action.

15.          Must have the ability to maintain focus on quality deliverables and be able to effectively manage project tasks, and have the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

16.          Must have the ability to investigate, analyze and work independently on assigned projects

17.          Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to build and manage project documentation, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships and have excellent interpersonal skills.

18.          Must have demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement within the code, document the code, architecture, enhancements, and bug fixes.

19.          Must have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including the PeopleSoft Financials and Budget users, technical team management and business management.

20.          Must have the ability to acquire new skills and knowledge as required by agency business objectives.

21.          Project leadership skills are preferred.

22.          A college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
