This position requires collaborating with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing nurse case management services for fertility treatments. We have an immediate opening for a per diem Andrology Lab Tech to join our team at our River North office. 

 

How You'll Contribute:

Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis Perform counts for concentration and motility, perform histological techniques for identifying leucocytes, immature germ cells and morphology Process semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs) Perform semen cryopreservation Assure proper sample collection, delivery and identification (chain of custody) Perform daily/monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology laboratory Assist laboratory personnel in performing lab services in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and guidelines to ensure laboratory maintains accreditation Performs quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and documents such actions. Checks and records daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents. Monitors supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply at all times and orders supplies when necessary. Take appropriate safety precautions for handling specimen and contaminated areas. Performs all clerical tasks associated with recording laboratory results in designated areas and filing. Provide a turnaround time to the physicians approximate two hour request from the time specimens are received. Reliability: It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelors of Chemistry, Biological, or Physical science or related field is preferred A minimum of 1 year laboratory experience Excellent organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines  Excellent communication skills  Ability to work as part of a team Good research skills • Advanced computer skills are required Flexibility and willingness to learn at all times Excellent multi-tasking abilities Ability to work some weekends

 

FCI requires all applicants to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before commencing employment. New hires will be required to furnish proof of full vaccination prior to their start date.  There may be alternative for an approved exemption based on bona fide medical or religious grounds.
