SUMMARY
Provides direct evaluation and therapeutic and convulsive services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Provides convulsive services to physicians and medical staff, as required. Acts as a (co-) leader or therapist in a variety of therapeutic activities. Prepares and maintains required reports and case record. Documents daily progress of patients in charts. Plans an implements special in-services and external training programs. Works with courts, lawyers, and probation officials to develop appropriate discharge and treatment plans for patients. Promotes programs and increases public awareness of drug problems by public appearance as assigned. Participates in treatment planning meetings. Discharge planning and placement of patients. Participates in Quality Assurance program. Performs all functions of counselor practice as outlined by NYSOASAS.

ATTRIBUTES
Two years of college with specialization in chemical dependency or other human services area. Credentialed Alcoholism Counselor with New York State Credential. One year of full-time employment in an inpatient facility preferred. Two years of continuous abstinence, if recovering. Excellent communication skills. Ability with working with a crisis-filled population.RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work with other health care team members, within and outside the institution. Work closely with patients, families, and/or their significant othersDemonstrates knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of individual and group counseling as applied to the treatment of addiction.EDUCATION:

13642The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
