The Department of Executive Medicine has a great opportunity for a per diem Dietitian to work in Miami and Palm Beach. The Dietitian (N) promotes good dietary health and treats medical conditions by devising eating plans for patients based on the science of nutrition. Moreover, the Dietitian (N) formulates and executes programs and materials to educate people about nutrition.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Helps people come to terms with their illnesses.
Makes educational presentations and writes patient progress reports.
Meets directly with patients to identify nutritional needs. Identifies ways to improve care of patients and makes recommendations to appropriate staff. Performs research and recommends ways to expand and improve nutrition programs.
Evaluates the effects of meal plans and changes the plans when appropriate.
Keeps up with the latest developments in nutritional science.
Buys foods and administers budget.
Schedules appointments and responds to patients’ questions or concerns.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:

Department Specific Functions
The Executive Health Department provides convenient and personalized attention to patients in our care. The dietitian builds long-term relationships with our patients and plays a crucial role in helping them achieve and maintain their health and nutrition goals. Responsibilities will involve completing nutrition assessments, personalized nutrition plans, and ongoing support to our patients. Dietician should have knowledge of weight loss medications, assist the patient in medical weight loss, be proficient in a variety of different diets including low carbohydrate, keto, gluten-free, intermittent fasting, paleolithic, etc., and adapt plans to meet the unique needs and preferences of each patient. This role requires expertise in nutrition, strong communication skills, and the ability to empower patients to make informed choices for healthier living.
Plans, develops and implements nutritional, health and wellness education for patients. Adapts education materials to levels appropriate for patients of the Executive Health practice. Assists in the updating and acquiring of resources for educational materials.
Performs nutritional, health and wellness screening and assessment. Develops and implements ongoing nutritional care plans based upon the developmental needs of each patient. Gathers data of patient responses to nutritional intervention. Prepares and completes patient records and documentation support according to licensure guidelines.
Collaborates with Exercise Physiologist to design and develop nutrition, health and wellness education programs and/or services targeting current patients. Identifies and develops evaluation criteria for assessing effectiveness of these programs.
Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development, competency and license as outlined in the position description.
Must be willing to travel/float between sites.
