Surgical coordinators are responsible for managing the scheduling and coordination of pain management procedures, including patient information, necessary equipment and supplies, while ensuring smooth communication between patients, their families, and medical staff, all while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to policies and protocols.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Scheduling procedures: Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures based on physician availability, patient needs, and facility capacity.
+ Patient communication: Provide detailed pre-operative instructions to patients, address concerns, and answer questions about the surgical process.
+ Insurance verification: Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures. \
+ Medical record management: Collect and maintain accurate patient medical records, including pre-operative testing results and relevant documentation.
+ Equipment and supply management: Ensure availability of required surgical equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures.
+ Liaison with medical team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, management and other healthcare professionals to coordinate surgical schedules and patient care. -Post-operative follow-up: Coordinate post-operative appointments and provide patients with necessary instructions for recovery.

Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage complex schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills: Clear and concise communication with patients, families, and medical staff is crucial.
Attention to detail: Accurate data entry and meticulous record keeping are essential.
Medical knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and patient care protocols.
Ability to work under pressure: Manage a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

The salary range for this position is $36,980-$55,690/year
