Job Description

We are seeking a Perception Research Scientist to join our cutting-edge team in autonomous driving / industry 4.0 technology. In this role, you will conduct advanced research and development to design, implement, and improve perception algorithms and models for real-world autonomous systems and industry solutions. You will focus on delivering high-performance solutions to achieve safe, robust, and efficient perception capabilities for vehicles/robots. Experience in deploying perception solutions in real products is a plus, such as sensor fusion, object detection, segmentation, localization, and tracking etc. This position offers a unique opportunity to advance state-of-the-art autonomous driving technology and work with leading researchers and engineers in the field.

 

Key Responsibilities

Research & Development: Work on research, design and implementation of software features that are beneficial to our customers to meet their performance targets and build unique values.

Design, develop, and enhance machine learning models for perception tasks, including object detection, segmentation, localization, and sensor fusion.

Algorithm Optimization: Implement and optimize perception algorithms that ensure high accuracy, real-time performance, and robustness under various environmental conditions (e.g., weather, lighting).Sensor Integration: Work with data from multiple sensor modalities, including LiDAR, radar, camera, and GPS, to create reliable and fused perception models.Data Collection & Annotation: Collaborate with data engineering teams to establish data requirements and ensure efficient collection, annotation, and curation of datasets for perception model training and validation.Simulation & Testing: Design and run simulations and tests to evaluate and benchmark perception algorithms in real-world and simulated environments.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other business units or teams to ensure smooth integration of perception solutions into the real products.Publication & Intellectual Property: Contribute to academic publications and patents, staying up-to-date on the latest research in autonomous driving and related fields.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education: Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, with a strong focus on perception, machine learning, or computer vision.Experience: 3+ years of experience (Ph.D. preferred) in research and development in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or autonomous systems, particularly in perception for autonomous vehicles.Problem-Solving Abilities: Highly self-motivated. Ability to tackle complex challenges, work independently, and manage multiple projects.Technical Skills:Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.Experience with perception algorithms and tools for object detection, segmentation, and 3D point cloud processing.Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience in ROS and OpenCV preferred.Knowledge of sensor techniques for LiDAR, radar, camera, and GPS data.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Publications in top-tier conferences/journals in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or autonomous driving.Experience with real-world perception systems for autonomous driving applications.Strong understanding of robotics software stack and safety-critical systems.
