Main Purpose of Role:As the performance and succession lead for the talent management team, and reporting to the Director, Talent Management, you will guide the performance and succession COEs at Allison Transmission.
You will facilitate the design, development and delivery of COE initiatives that align with the organization's most pressing business challenges and talent skill gaps. You will create custom solutions and use industry acknowledged programs that challenge and support our employees to be their best while achieving Allison’s long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:Leading all aspects of the Allison performance, succession, and development experience, including:
Collaborating with business leaders, HR business partners, diversity, equity and inclusion partners, and employees to build a culture of performance and development at Allison.Sharing your vision of excellence, and continually refreshing that vision through a combination of outside resources, training, and lessons learned.Acting as a change agent and trusted business advisor on effective and groundbreaking strategies to achieve business goals.Evolving the global performance, succession, and development processes, applying your vision, experience, curiosity, inventiveness, and attention to detail to Allison's existing systems and processes in order to craft an exciting path forward.Establishing a clear position on the use of assessments, detailing which assessments are to be used, when, and for what purpose.Forging a dynamic, productive partnership with the Recruiting and Learning Leads in support of your shared drive to deliver an integrated and exceptional talent management experience.Partnering with internal and external technology partners to deliver the best possible systems support for Allison's performance, succession, and development experiences; managing day-to-day COE Workday administration and serving as the business process expert for technical projects; performing basic Workday configuration with the support and guidance of the HRIS team.Resolving challenges effectively, efficiently, and without ego.Exploring COE data and using that data to tell practical, concrete stories that drive action.Contributing to the Allison Employee Value Proposition and incorporating it into employee’s experiences with the COE.Handling the COE budget, vendor relationships, and contracts.Key Performance Measures:Established reputation as a valued advisor with strong interpersonal and inter-departmental relationships.Employee engagement measures related to performance, succession and development are tracked and trending positively.Data is accessible, useful, trust-worthy, and in use at all levels of the organization to drive decision-making.Processes are clear, well-documented, easy to find, and meticulously followed.Competencies and Behaviors:Customer service oriented, creative, and inclined to action.Demonstrated experience in fast-paced environments where prioritization of multiple tasks is important.Agile learner and process innovator.Well organized but flexible in approach and comfortable with change.Clear and effective communicator whether in person, via email, or when presenting.Savvy talent systems administrator and Office software power user.Great teammate.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology, psychology, human resources, management, or related field. Equivalent experience or a mix of education and experience would be just fine.Strong preference will be given to those with experience as an engaged Workday talent business process owner.Experience:Demonstrated success in a corporate talent environment (at least 7 years); in depth understanding of performance, succession, development, and assessment programs. Experience including manufacturing and teams outside of the US preferred.Proven ability to effectively facilitate training in large and small group sessions.Experience in designing and driving talent process enhancements; strong project management skills.Experience in delivering and interpreting assessments; certifications in Hogan tools preferred.Experience maintaining relationships with external vendors and partners.Technical proficiency with talent management systems; Workday Talent modules strongly preferred.Experience establishing and iterating on comprehensive and insightful metrics to improve COE effectiveness and inform and influence business decisions.Exceptional written and verbal communication including strong presentation skills and storytelling to influence & motivate change.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of interpreting data, understanding trends, and developing recommendations for action.Scope FactorsIndividual contributor.Talent vendor management.Community and industry partnerships.Influence with business leaders and HR Business Partners.Global reach and scope.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
