SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Performance Dietitian for the Human Performance Program at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL. This position will support the human performance team in a military setting. This work will take place in a first-of-its-kind human performance (HP) facility that incorporates job-specific conditioning, cutting-edge HP technology, and easy access to prehab & rehab physical therapy.

The Performance Dietitian is responsible for providing nutritional guidance, assisting in the production of nutritional policy and guidelines, assessing nutritional needs, teaching meal preparation, and for developing nutrition improvement plans for student pilots, instructor pilots, and other warfighters at Tyndal AFB. This position will work in coordination with the Human Performance Team to ensure that there is a seamless integration of all warfighter care through the organization. The selected applicant will have daily contact and interaction with AF trainees and senior leaders, as well as other staff members, contractors and vendors. As such, the selected party must adhere to the highest standards of conduct throughout the course of their daily activities and apply appropriate relationships with trainees, customers, and teammates.

 

Salary range:

$56,000 - 66,000

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Executes nutrition policy and program requirements in accordance with instruction and guidance established by company guidelines.Serves as the nutrition expert, consultant, and advocate to support a comprehensive fitness program for aircrew personnel Uses a wide range of principles, practices and procedures of the science of dietetics and behavior change theories to plan, implement and evaluate performance nutrition program needs Develops and delivers relevant performance nutrition content and teaching materials for all human performance syllabi In partnership with human performance staff, assesses nutrition behaviors, environment and needs for the beneficiary population using available and applicable tools, data gathering, and research.Maintains data quality management and reporting requirements in program execution in accordance with DoD guidance.Communicates and coordinates nutrition programs among local leadership and target customers/beneficiaries.Employs appropriate social marketing tools to meet program goals and objectives.Delivers briefings, educational sessions, seminars, and worksite wellness consultation as needed.When appropriate, review patient records and provide appropriate assessments to determine dietetic treatment requirements.Maintain all professional credentials and licensure.Perform cleaning/sanitization of facility space and equipment utilized for performance dietetics services and activities. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

Completion of a baccalaureate degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics3+ years of full-time experience in a similar roleBoard eligible Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics by the ADA

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Master's degree in nutrition education, sports nutrition, public health, health promotion, or community nutritionExperience working with a tactical population

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
