Your Impact As a Performance Engineer working on Cisco Firepower our newest network security appliance you will work with the following: * Support test and test development activities for Cisco Secure Firewall products * Design and execute firewall throughput performance test plans and procedures to validate new and existing hardware and software functionality * Record, analyze, diagnose, report and lead test scenarios, incidents, problems and retests dependent on agreed criteria. * Collaborate with product development to solve and implement additional test methodologies. * Assist junior team members in troubleshooting and/or interpreting test results Minimum Qualifications: * BS or higher in computer related field with minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience * 3 + years of professional work experience with networking such as routing/switching, IP, TCP/UDP, and application layers such as HTTP, SMTP, etc. * Experience of the Linux/Unix command line * Experience with Bash and Python scripting languages * Work experience with Firewall, NAT, and IPS technologies Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with network traffic tools such as Spirent, Ixia/Breakingpoint, TeraVM, etc * Familiar with cloud/virtual environments such as Azure, AWS / EKS, GCP, OCI, Alibaba, Kubernetes, EXSi, OpenStack, or KVM * Cisco Certification such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Routing / Security) * Excellent analytical, communication, and technical skills * Ability to execute parallel tasks simultaneously Why Cisco Secure We're global, we're adaptable, we're diverse, and our security portfolio is as extensive as it is groundbreaking.
