**Job Description:**
Provides a broad range of systems / application support, research and analysis, administration, performance availability monitoring and management for own area.
**CUSTOMER**
+ Strategize & lead testing of TD Bank's production like infrastructure with a focus on automation & scale
+ Promote and apply best practices for performance testing of scalable and reliable services across engineering
+ Be a subject matter expert and partner with our engineering team on areas of performance and scale
+ Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations
+ Participate in root cause analysis for performance related incidences and determining how we can prevent them in the future, Identify performance bottlenecks and create repeatable processes
+ Deep Dive Analysis and provide insights using Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog etc. to diagnose, improve, and resolve performance issues.
+ Collaborate with development and operations teams to analyze performance test results, diagnose performance issues, and recommend solutions for optimization.
+ Collaborate with the Architect for defining the Workload model, monitor production workloads and performance, and update/refine the workload model.
+ Understand Non-Functional Requirements and the underlying application Architecture and technology stack, to ensure overall Performance coverage across various systems.
+ Continuously strive to improve the stability of production environment by partnering closely with key stakeholders on setting up, maintaining and monitoring applications/systems, ensuring availability targets are met
+ Provide technical leadership to improve the design and operation of systems in alignment to performance/reliability engineering best practices and overall Technology and Bank strategies, applying the practices of computer science and software engineering to the design and development of large, complex systems
+ Develop deep relationships with Product Owners, Tech Leads and Ops to build transparency and help foster end to end accountability of products and services
**SHAREHOLDER**
+ Be a performance test advocate and advisor for the performance tools and frameworks that serve as a model for others with regard to quality, scalability, operability, maintainability, etc
+ Participate in defining the technical vision and architecture with performance in mind
+ Communicate and collaborate across levels, functions, and organizational boundaries
+ Monitor the performance of the environment by using meaningful metrics
+ Assess and analyze optimization opportunities to the operational environment to improve performance and/or resource utilization
+ Adhere to existing processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk, and production capacity guidelines; plan, monitor and escalate issues as required
+ Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines
+ Make effective use of the cost management processes in place in own unit
+ Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
+ Proactively identify emerging technologies and approaches for building more robust applications
+ May perform testing according to test plans, monitor and report on results, and work with others on problem resolution

**BREADTH & DEPTH:**
+ Utilize JMeter to conduct performance test Executions on various applications, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and issues.
+ Works independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach/ educate others
+ Subject matter expert and consults with clients, team, and/or project team to provide technical guidance and highly complex troubleshooting/problem resolution
+ Research industry standards, best practices and new innovations in technology and makes recommendations
+ Advanced knowledge of leading-edge theories, engineering practices, extensive coding, and scripting.
+ Advanced knowledge of the business, the broader organization, technical environment, processes, procedures, tools and other relevant technology areas (e.g. Architecture, Infrastructure, Security etc.) from a design / support / solutions perspective
+ Ability to identify issues and gaps, and keep on top of emerging industry trends in the SRE discipline
+ Acts as an SRE SME resource for colleagues with less experience
+ Performs complex to difficult technical task independently.
+ Primarily works at the Platform product / Pod level
+ Typically reports to the Practice Lead, Site Reliability Engineer
**EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION**
+ Track record of leading successful large scale Infrastructure projects
+ 6+ years of leading performance test engineering
+ 5+ years of Performance Testing/Monitoring of Web Applications
+ Proficiency in various scripting techniques, develop custom codes for enhancing and customizing performance testing scripts and scenarios using Jmeter where applicable.
+ Candidates MUST be able to code with a programming language using standard software development practices like unit testing and iterative development
+ Possess good knowledge in network and edge technologies
+ Demonstrate excellent Linux fundamentals and solid understanding of diagnosing system utilization
+ Experience working with Agile methodologies
+ Possess excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence others
+ Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline for performance testing
+ Experience with Performance test framework development and automation
+ Experience working with large scale distributed systems & large data volumes
+ Experience with some of the following technologies and services:
+ Cloud based Infrastructure as a Service (especially Azure)
+ Container based service schedulers (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, etc.)
+ MySQL, Java, Python
+ Perf tools like Jmeter, Loadrunner etc
+ Log management tools (Splunk)
+ Monitoring systems (Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog, )
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose performance issues and propose effective solutions.
+ Ability to take up additional responsibilities and mandates like Chaos Engineering, Observability, etc., towards the transitioning to a SRE role.
+ Able to define data strategy and collaborate with the Test Data Management team to generate on-demand data.
+ Expertise in adopting In house client side performance testing tools like UX Engine to measure End user experience, wherever applicable.
+ Experience in developing Virtual Services using Mountebank for all Performance testing requirements.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and technology/business stakeholders.
