Performance Improvement, Point of Care Safety Technologist

Position Summary:

The technician will work in concert with the PI/POC/Safety Coordinator in the daily operation of the PI/POC/Safety department. 

Qualifications:

            A.        Certification:

 

Required:  MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), or MLT equivalent or eligible for certification.  

 

            B.        Education:

                       

Required:  Must meet CLIA education requirements for testing personnel-minimum moderate complexity testing.

 

Preferred: Must meet CLIA education requirements for technical consultant.

 

C.        Job Knowledge:

 

Basic computer knowledge.  Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Clinical Laboratory preferred.

 

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.

 

Extended periods of standing, walking, and use of stairway.

 

Exposure to bio-hazardous materials, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases.
