Performance Manager

Job Summary:

As a Performance Manager, you will ensure operational excellence, cultivate a thriving community, and enhance user satisfaction by fostering meaningful connections and designing experiences that go beyond physical fitness. You will play a key role in delivering Exos’ fitness and wellness programs, managing facilities, and acting as a strategic partner to both clients and local communities. Your leadership will inspire teams and drive program success, ensuring that every experience is aligned with Exos’ high standards and client goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence & Community Engagement:

Ensure a high level of stakeholder satisfaction by reading user cues, personalizing interactions, and proactively enhancing the user experience. 

Build a connected and thriving fitness community by focusing on human connection beyond physical fitness. 

Design and promote community experiences that resonate with participants and positively impact the local culture.

Program Strategy & Development:

Own program strategy by leveraging Exos methodology to develop and implement comprehensive fitness and wellness programs. 

Tailor these programs to diverse populations, ensuring an emphasis on quality movement, safety, and long-term engagement.

Facility Management:

Oversee the overall performance and operations of the facility, maintaining a clean, safe, and positive environment that meets both the client’s and Exos’ high standards.

Team Leadership:

Empower and lead a team of coaches, ensuring consistency and excellence across all services. 

Mentor, develop, and provide ongoing support to your team, fostering professional growth and helping others handle complex situations. 

Deliver timely feedback, both positive and constructive, to drive performance.

Strategic Partner:

Serve as a key liaison between Exos, the client, and local communities. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align service delivery with client objectives and drive impactful community initiatives.

Brand Ambassador:

Represent Exos at meetings, events, and on digital platforms, embodying the company’s core values of humility, resilience, and accountability.

Promote Exos’ mission to upgrade lives and lead a high-performance lifestyle.

Problem Solving & Communication:

Use critical thinking to analyze data and research, providing actionable insights and solutions. 

Communicate team vision effectively across varied audiences, tailoring your approach for clarity and engagement.

Organizational Skills:

Maintain a high degree of organization to execute tasks efficiently and with attention to detail.

Adapt to expanding responsibilities by leveraging past learnings to improve performance and reduce mistakes.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of coaching and fitness experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field required.

Active NSCA-CSCS, NASM, or equivalent certifications required

Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

Proven experience in leading teams and managing operations, with a track record of building performance-focused, thriving communities.

Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills for both small and large groups.

Expertise in fitness program design, coaching, and delivering group fitness classes with a focus on safety, progression, and results.

Passion for human connection, community building, and supporting behavior change through engaging fitness programs.

Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering exceptional participant experiences.

Residents of CA, CO, NY, WA, MD: Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $60,000/year to $90,000/year. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs. Exos offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full time employees (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Additionally, Exos offers a variety of part time benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).
