As a Performance Monitoring Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of network infrastructure by deploying and maintaining an enterprise-level network monitoring solution. Our team provides continuous observation and management of the organization’s network infrastructure, duties include tracking/analyzing network traffic to ensure network peak efficiency, monitoring the health and status of all physical devices within the network, and scrutinizing network traffic to identify application performance issues and potential bottlenecks related to user experience on the network. By deploying a comprehensive network monitoring solution, our team ensures the Pentagon and National Capitol Region (NCR) networks are resilient, efficient, and aligned with operational needs.

HOW A PERFORMANCE MONITORING ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Collaborate with end-users and government customers to identify the key performance indicators (KPIs) that need to be monitored for complex systems and infrastructure development.

Develop monitoring processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.

Develop and execute test plans to check the technical performance of infrastructure and systems. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and monitoring software

Configure the monitoring system to test the availability of infrastructure and services to measure user experience, and tailor it to meet the needs of the customer.

Define system components, ensure scalability, and guide the overall technical direction of the project, to ensure the customer receives the best possible service and their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – REQUIRED:

CITIZENSHIP: US Citizenship
CLEARANCE: Security Clearance Level: Active Top-Secret Clearance

CERTIFICATION(S): Active Security+ CE Certification (or higher) at time of hire. One or more of the following active network certifications: Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos), Juniper Network Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS-ENT)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience

YEAR’S EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of directly related experience in networking technologies, specifically switches and routers and resolving complex Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) issues.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Candidates should have familiarity and/or experience with:

Cisco, Juniper, Aruba and/or Arista

TACACS, Radius (ACS / ISE)

SNMP, Syslog, ACL’s, VLAN, Routing and Switching

Network Operations:

Resolve network issues promptly, focusing on problem resolution to enhance reliability and availability.

Working knowledge of NetScout and InfoVista, for effective network monitoring to isolate issues.

Performance Optimization:

Continuously assess and optimize network performance for maximum efficiency.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network operations with business objectives.

The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $118,236. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
