**SUMMARY**
Performs tests and inspections, assisting in the development of programs and procedures, and providing general support for activities within the scope of the Maintenance Support.
**EDUCATION**
• High School/GED or equivalent (Required).
• Associates degree in Process Technology, Math or Science Discipline (Preferred).
• Without a degree, military and or work experience such as Navy Nuclear Program, Aviation Mechanic, Test Technician, Electronics repair, mechanical helper, or NDE technician maybe considered.
**EXPERIENCE**
Relevant experience may be considered for all levels.
• **Performance Tech 1** – Additional experience not required.
• **Performance Tech 2** – minimum of 6 months in the Perf Tech Training Program (Required).
• **Performance Tech 3** – minimum of 12 months in the Perf Tech Training Program (Required).
• **Performance Tech 4** – minimum of 18 months in the Perf Tech Training Program (Required).
• **Performance Tech 5** – minimum of 24 months in the Perf Tech Training Program (Required).
• **Performance Tech 6** – minimum of 30 months in the Perf Tech Training Program (Required).
• **Performance Tech (Journeyman)** – minimum of 3 years in the Perf Tech Training Program, On the Job Training, or similar plant experience. (Required).
**LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS**
• Texas Driver’s license (Required)
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
**PERFORMANCE TECHNICIAN DUTIES:**
• Conducts plant performance tests on condensers, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, diesel engines, valves, and chillers and review test results.
• Conducts tests to determine overall plant performance.
• Performs cathodic protection surveys and review test results.
• Performs vibration, thermography, and lubrication monitoring of installed plant equipment and review test results.
• Performs nondestructive examinations on plant components and equipment. Reviews results and prepares reports based on examination results.
• Conducts testing for the Fire Protection Program. This includes Fire Detection Testing, Fire Pump Performance Testing, Deluge Actuation Testing, Visual inspection of Fire Protection Equipment, Fire Extinguishers, Hoses, Valves, etc.
• Assists in procedure development, engineering drawing review, data review, and evaluation of test results.
• Performs reviews of technical manuals, specifications, flow diagrams, elementary diagrams, logic diagrams, and other documents.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
**ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
• Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up 30+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week.
• Shiftwork in nuclear power plant, including Holiday coverage.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
**WORK LOCATION**
• Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
