Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Quality Engineering Performance Manager, the Performance Test Lead will be responsible for early engagement with project teams to define Non Functional Requirements, ensuring the quality of 3rd party Performance Test delivery as well as working with the business to remediate existing performance issues. Additionally the candidate would be working with the Performance Manager to expand NFT beyond Performance and into the wider Non Functional testing that is required

Key Responsibilities:

Working with projects to ensure quality NFR’s are deliveredAssuring the quality of Non Functional test strategies and plansAssuring the quality of NFT deliverables throughout the project lifecycle Assessing existing performance issues in key business areas, and helping plan resolutionsWork closely with on/offshore vendor resource to ensure timescales are metPlanning for regular performance regression tests to assure performance in live Expanding the NFT test types that are available within TMHCC

Performance Objectives:  

Engagement with vendor Performance test resources and analysis of ongoing projects Work with QE Performance Manager to review existing performance issues and plan remediationEngage with upcoming projects to improve early engagement with QEAlongside the QE Performance Manager, create a plan for the introduction of non functional testing beyond performance

Skills and Experience Specification:

Essential:

Experience in conducting performance testing to evaluate the speed, scalability, and stability of an application or system under different conditions. Familiarity with tools like JMeter, NeoLoad, or Gatling are essentialExpertise in simulating high user loads to ensure the system can handle peak usage periods and stress testing to identify the breaking point of the application.Proficiency in using automation tools to streamline non-functional testing processes and integrate them into CI/CD pipelinesExperience in setting up and utilising monitoring tools and logging systems to track system performance, identify issues, and ensure visibility of underlying issues causing performance challengesStrong leadership skills and experience in guiding a team of testers, along with excellent communication skills and a track record of collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.Ability to analyse test results, identify trends, and generate comprehensive and accessible reports that provide insights into system performance and areas for improvement.Knowledge of techniques for performance tuning and optimisation of applications and systems to enhance overall performanceExperience of NFT outside of Performance testing, and of introducing other Non Functional test types into an organisation

Desirable:

Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines to integrate non-functional testing seamlessly into the development process.Experience of architectural/design analysis to identify potential performance defects early in the project life cycleFamiliarity with cloud and their specific tools for performance and scalability testingProficiency in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities through penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security audits.
