The role you’ll contribute:
The Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Perinatal Nurse Navigator (PNN) serves as an expert perinatal clinician and patient/client advocate assisting high risk patients/families to “navigate” the complex health care system

The PNN must be able to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective.
Plans, organizes, and oversees daily clinical and administrative operations required to manage the Perinatal Center, high risk patient care coordination from point of outpatient referral through hospital admission/discharge and follow up, including coordination of patient care records and care plan.
Engage in patient encounters in both the ambulatory perinatal unit and in the inpatient setting, as needed.
Relationship building with patients and families.
Educate patient/significant other on care and treatment options to enable patient led treatment decisions. Provide informational material to patients.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
The PNN must demonstrate knowledge of the requisite biotechnological and biomedical sciences, as well as application of this knowledge to patient care. The PNN must demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that result in the effective exchange of information and collaboration with patients, their families, and health professionals.
Management approach to common fetal conditions and obstetrical complications requiring specialized antenatal care and/or hospitalization.
Management approach to maternal medical conditions (e.g., diabetes).
The psychosocial impact of high-risk pregnancy on the patient and family.
Develop and manage communication process between interdisciplinary team members, staff, and patients/families.
Effectively present and discuss patients with all members of the healthcare team, including advanced practice providers, medical students, sonographers, residents, nurses and attending physicians.
Effectively address patient questions and concerns during each visit.
Appropriately elevate patient questions and concerns to supervising physician.
Communicate regularly with referring physicians to provide patient updates and services as needed.
Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements.
Current BLS
Current driver’s license issued by Department of Motor Vehicles
Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement
Preferred qualifications:
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3 years of experience in OBGYN or MFM preferred.
