Assistant Professor/Clinical (Dental Hygiene)

The Department of Periodontics, Division of Dental Hygiene at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position focused on providing laboratory, clinical and didactic instruction for dental hygiene students.

Minimum qualifications:

Master’s degree in dental hygiene or related field preferred, or Doctor of Dental Surgery DDS, DMD, or BDS. Graduate from a CODA-approved dental hygiene program or Dental School. Registered dental hygienist or dentist with a current Texas license or maintain eligibility to obtain licensure within the state of Texas. At least three years of clinical experience. Educational experience (preferred but not required)

Job responsibilities:

Designing and delivering instruction in clinical, laboratory, and didactic settings. Serving as a professional role model for students. Assist with the coordination of clinical activities and student schedules. Participate in departmental meetings, including faculty development

The position will entail clinical and practical teaching and course administration and instruction in the entry level, bachelor completion and master's level courses. We employ multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large and small group discussion, clinical, lecture, demonstration and simulation. The positions would also include participation in the faculty practice clinic of the department.
