The Department of Periodontics, Division of Dental Hygiene at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position of Instructor Clinical. This position is focused on providing laboratory clinical and didactic instruction for dental hygiene students.

The minimum qualifications are, a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S, graduate of a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental accreditation (CODA), three (3) years of full-time clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist, must have a current Texas license, certification, or other credentials as required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the Dental Hygiene field and educational experience, preferred but not required.

The following are the job responsibilities; designing and delivering instruction in clinical, laboratory, and didactic settings, serving as a professional role model for students, assist with the coordination of clinical activities and student schedules, and participate in departmental meetings, including faculty development.

The position would entail clinical and practical teaching, course administration and instruction at the Entry Level. We employ multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large-and small-group discussion, clinical, lecture, demonstration, and simulation. The position will also include participation in the faculty practice clinic of the department.
