**Overview** **Periop Patient Care Assistant** As our Periop Patient Care Assistant at The Woodlands Facility, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll help our patients be comfortable as they prepare and are released from the operating room. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means treating each patient's individual needs, checking their vitals and supporting our clinical teams. Responsible for opening sterile supplies, assisting with patient positioning, coordinating and assisting with the set up and cleanup of the operating rooms as well as assisting team members in the delivery of patients to and from the operating room. **Responsibilities** + Opens and assists the team with supplies, instrument sets, suture selection and meeting benchmark turnovers + Assists the surgical suite in patient positioning, surgical preps, clipping and aids in the retrieving of x-rays, equipment set up and tracking and removing instruments to and from the operating room suites + Assists Registered Nurses, Surgical Scrubs and the Surgeons while preventing the disruption of the surgical case by retrieving supplies, relaying messages and managing the ancillary support of the surgical team + Sets up and tears down laparoscopic equipment, ensuring that printers, cameras and tubing is properly processed and arranged + Assists in the pre-operative patient preparation **Qualifications** + High School Diploma/GED + Based on location assignment may also require BLS/ACLS/ and or PALS **Preferred experience:** + One (1) year of related health care experience + Hospital environmental and safety sanitation + Hospital patient transport \#PCATEXAS #PCASLWH **Pay Range** $14.82 - $20.38 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
