What You'll Be Doing
MAIN FUNCTIONS: The Manager has twenty four-hour accountability for the operational management of the Operating Room. Implicit in this statement is indicated managerial responsibility for the supervision, direction and support of the nursing staff in that unit to meet the needs of the Patient/Unit/Hospital.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposure to communicable diseases, blood and blood products, illness, confused and/or combative patients, hazardous chemicals, stressful situations, X-rays and fluoroscopy, sharp instruments and needles, and electricity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Includes standing, walking, lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, beds, stretchers, occasionally must stoop, reach above head, carry medium to light equipment.
CONTACTS: Physicians, Administration, Department Head, Hospital Staff, Patients, Families, Visitors and Vendors.
SUPERVISES: All unit staff; RNs, LPNs, ORTs, O.R. Assistants, O.R. Specialty Coordinators, Secretary/Scheduling Coordinator and other personnel.
REPORTS TO: AVP -Patient Care Services
What We're Looking For
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Baccalaureate degree required or currently enrolled in a Baccalaureate program
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years' clinical/leadership experience. CNOR and Laser Certification preferred.
LICENSURE/QUALIFICATIONS: Current license to practice professional nursing in New Jersey. BSN required; I.V. Certification as per Hospital policy. CPR and ACLS required.
