*POSITION SUMMARY:* To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: Acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a Circulating Nurse in the operating room, through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of professional nursing practice. Nursing care is provided to the individual patient, based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs. *PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:* *Quality/No Harm:* * Demonstrates effective and safe clinical practice. * Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice. * Adheres to aseptic and infection control techniques as required by policy. * Handles Specimens correctly. *Customer Experience:* * Provides patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care. * Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences. *Stewardship:* * Uses and cares for equipment and supplies economically. * Assists with room turnover in a timely manner, specific to facility. * Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility. * When competency is established, intern may function independently at the discretion of the OR Supervisor/OR Educator. *QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:* * Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. * Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement. * Must hold and maintain current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card, * Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, or 1 year of Outpatient Surgery Center RN * experience or 1 year OR Scrub Tech experience preferred *PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* * Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. * Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range. * Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients/equipment. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. * Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop. * Potential for exposure to bio hazardous waste, potential hazardous substances, and known or unknown diseases. * Ability to move quickly, even in crowded conditions, often involving lines, cords, and machines. * Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. * Continuous concentration on an activity where the flow of work is intermittent. * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. *MENTAL DEMANDS:* * Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding. * Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities. * Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations. * Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills. * Must be able to work under close observation of preceptors. **Job:** **Perioperative - OR or PACU* **Organization:** **Holmes Regional Medical Center* **Title:** *Perioperative RN Resident* **Location:** *Florida - Brevard County-Melbourne* **Requisition ID:** *075975*
